Coffee keeps your liver from going to pot
Whether it's olives for motion sickness or licorice for sore throats, moms and grandmas believe they've cornered the home remedy market for years. But trust me -- fellas know a thing or two about home remedies too.
That's because for years guys have been playing nutty professor trying every kitchen hangover cure you can imagine to relieve the throbbing head and nausea that shows up after a night carousing with Mr. Jack Daniels.
But when it comes to beating hangovers, nothing has ever worked as well for me as a strong pot of black coffee. And it looks like I've been onto something all along.
According to a new study, coffee won't just keep your brain sharp and your joints gliding -- it could actually help protect your body from all those extra whiskey sours and Merlots.
Exciting new research from Duke University proves that two cups of coffee a day can actually work like a powerful shield protecting your liver from the many dangers (not to mention drinks) life throws its way. In fact, scientists found that a little daily java can actually slash your chances of dying from liver cirrhosis by a whopping 66%.
Now, if you've been listening to the mainstream health Gestapo, you probably swore off coffee years ago. They've been crowing for years about how it's bad for your heart and can spike your blood pressure.
Well just because they're screaming bloody murder doesn't mean they're right. The science keeps rolling in on good ol' joe, and it's all good news. Heck, a regular coffee habit could even slash your cancer risk!
So go ahead... grind some beans and brew yourself a big old pot of your favorite coffee. You just may end up sipping away your nagging health worries for good.
